Lunch Zoom with Jared Weinstein

Jared Weinstein is a partner at Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm based in New York City. Thrive Capital raised $1B in 2018 and focuses on internet and software investments. Some of their notable investments include Warby Parker, Instagram, and MakerBot. When Jared is not working in NYC, he is in his hometown Birmingham. Jared founded The Overton Project, which is a social impact entity focused on citywide initiatives in Birmingham. Some of their projects include partnerships with Rise of the Rest, BhmTalks, Venture for America, and Microsoft’s TEALS computer science program. Additionally, Jared is on the Community Foundation Board. Prior to Thrive and the Overton Project, he spent seven years at The White House in various roles. From 2006-2009, he served specifically as the special assistant and personal aide to President George W. Bush. Jared received a BA in Public Policy from Duke University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
