Luncheon with Ruth Ann Moss
Join us to hear from Ruth Ann Moss, Executive Director of Birmingham Talks. Her passion for education and justice led her to serve as a Teach For America corps member immediately following her college graduation. After four years in the classroom, Ruth Ann joined the staff at Teach For America – Alabama, where she coached new teachers across the state, managed educator certification, and executed large-scale professional development. She was consistently ranked as one of the ten highest performing coaches in the national organization. Ruth Ann shifted to the early childhood education sector in 2019, working alongside Bloomberg Philanthropies and the City of Birmingham to launch Birmingham Talks, where she serves as the Executive Director. In the short time since its inception, Birmingham Talks has served over 1,000 children. Ruth Ann is active in community organizations such as the United Way Early Learning Action Network and the Jefferson County Maternal Health Roundtable and is a member of Alabama Leadership Initiative Class IV. Ruth Ann holds a B.A. from Mississippi College and a Master’s in Education Policy from Samford University.
