Audrey Atkins is a writer and editor whose work focuses on growing up in the South, living in Alabama, and confronting our history and stereotypes head-on. In addition to a career at Birmingham’s National Public Radio station WBHM, she is an accomplished author: her work has been published in the Washington Post, The Bitter Southerner’s Folklore Project, and Alabama Media Group’s “It’s a Southern Thing,” among others, and her collection of essays They Call Me Orange Juice was published in 2018.
