Become a Member
The Rotaract Club of Birmingham is the premier organization for young professionals in Birmingham, Alabama. Through Rotaract, emerging civic leaders come together to fulfill our Club’s motto: Learn, Socialize, and Serve. If you're a driven young professional passionate about serving the community around you, we invite you to apply for membership.
Application Requirements
We’re looking for engaged individuals who are actively involved—or looking to get involved—in the Birmingham community. Ideal candidates are 35 years of age or younger, gainfully employed, and have a passion for service, prior leadership and service experience, and a desire to grow professionally while having fun with our 200+ members.
To apply, you must meet the following 10 requirements:

Be between 21 and 35 years old. You are not eligible if you turn 35 on or before June 30 of the fiscal year in which you plan to apply. (Current members may remain active but will age out during that year.)

Be gainfully employed

Attend at least one Learn, one Social, and one Service event within six months of the October 1 application deadline.

Learn event (e.g., a Rotaract luncheon, Curated Connection, or Board Meeting)

Social event (e.g., a monthly social, pop-up social, Sip N Spell or Foundation Ball)

Service event (e.g., a monthly club service or College Signing Day)

*Note: Please register in advance on the website and check in with the Rotaract board member leading the event to ensure your attendance is recorded.
4. Obtain one letter of endorsement from a current Rotaract Club of Birmingham member
* Note: current board members, Foundation board members, and family members/significant others may not serve as a recommender.
5. Obtain one letter of endorsement from a current Rotary member (preferably not a family member) or a leader of a service organization. Priority consideration will be given to recommendations from current Rotary members.
6. Acquire three references from current Rotaract members (letter not required, but you must list their names in your application)
7. Complete an online membership application, which includes a video component
8. A $25 application fee is required and will be applied to your membership dues, if accepted. The application fee is non-refundable, even if your membership is not approved.
*Note: The online application will be available two months prior to the application deadline.

Application Review & Deadlines
Your application will be reviewed once all materials—including both endorsements—are submitted through the forms. Materials received after the application deadline has passed will not be considered.

After submission, your application will be reviewed by our Application Review Committee to ensure you are a strong fit for Rotaract. Please note that this is a competitive process, and we seek the brightest and best young professionals currently living and serving in the Birmingham community.
