Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Rotary's goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever. World Polio Day falls in October and is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and all who want a world free from polio to come together, recognize our progress in the fight to end polio, and talk about the actions we need to take in order to end polio for good.

Rotaract’s Purple Out Polio Luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, October 16th, Downtown Rotarian Dr. Isabel Scarinci will share her personal story of battling and overcoming polio and what Rotary’s global fight to end polio means to her.

In the spirit of the event, everyone is encouraged to wear purple, and the room will be decorated to match. Guests will also have the chance to play POLIO Bingo, where each card purchased helps raise funds for Rotary International’s PolioPlus initiative. Throughout the game, we’ll be sharing educational facts about polio.
